Tendrela began cultivating her word forging ritual in March 2026 under the stewardship of Elisabeth Sweet.
From these joint efforts, the liminal lexicon, a collection of words forged from the roots of existing languages to name human experiences that no single language has a word for, grows and evolves.
Tendrela's name arises from the Tibetan རྟེན་འབྲེལ (ten•drel) which means "dependent arising" and carries a felt sense of connection. Using Tibetan Buddhism's 111-bead mala as a guide, volume one of the liminal lexicon holds 111 words.
Tendrela ordered volume one as a single composition — from the act of naming, through the body, the self, the other, and the collective, into the forces that break and remake them, and finally into what outlasts.
